Explore the World of Whiskey - Wednesday, April 10, 5:30-7pm in the Art Speaks Gallery

Together we will begin to explore the whiskey offerings from around the world. Eric and Erica Ashley, of His and Hers Sipping Society, will educate us about how each whiskey is crafted and best enjoyed.

This tasting will include 5 whiskeys, each coming from a different place in the world. A sampling of light finger foods will complement the tastings.

  • Bourbon - Eagle Rare 10 year: Great example of a higher aged bourbon coming from the famous Buffalo Trace distillery.
  • Canadian Whiskey - Crown Royal Hand Selected Barrel: Features the Coffey Rye Whiskey which forms the heart of the CR Deluxe Blend. This will be the highest proof of the tasting at 103.
  • Scotch - Johnnie Walker Black 12 Year Blended Scotch - A nice intro to the world of scotch, with an age statement and an light introduction to the smoky side of scotch.
  • Japanese Whiskey - Kikori Whiskey: Very unique and the first to be made from 100% rice. Very light profile that may appeal to new whiskey drinkers or those that enjoy Sake.
  • The final tasting will bring the world-traveling theme together. In order to travel we have to use a plane, so we will make our final landing in Italy by enjoying a Paper Plane cocktail, which feature  Aperol, Amaro liqueur (made locally in Williamsburg), along with Maker's Mark bourbon, and lemon juice.

To add to the excitement, we will have a raffle of a mini-bottle of Johnnie Walker 18 Year, a Glencairn whisky tasting glass, and a blind-flight of some of Eric's favorite whiskeys.
